After so many years of struggle in learning English, it is still a pain deep in our heart. The frustrations have become so aggravating that many of us complain or even swear about this language. But complaining doesn't work, nor does swearing. Punching yourself in head wouldn't work either.

But, how long would it take for us to attain proficiency in English? This is a difficult question, as it depends on several factors. The first factor is how much time and effort we are willing to put in. The second is the abilities to study smartly.

4 n7 E- c- t5 SIn my experience, improving English is a long and grueling process, which can take years of hard work. These days, some English training schools in China even claim that they can help you achieve fluency in a few months, or even a few weeks. We probably just laugh at it.% s1 U; u4 G0 t" P( v/ ?% T
6 a* }# v* k X9 iOf course, we also need to learn smartly, by being open-minded and getting feedback from other people especially for speaking skills, such as pronunciation and fluency.5 Z" M; S$ ~9 T
+ l' q \. g9 @' b" `Indeed, learning English is like learning a musical instrument, as both take a long time and tremendous amount effort to achieve mastery.
