1) GST/HST is nothing to do with child care benefits, but given the fixed family income, you may be refunded more if you have more children. This is reasonable because the more children you have, the more you spend. Officially you are required to report worldwide income., g/ V0 o& W" G7 b

2) Canada child tax benefit (CCTB) is adjusted along with your family income. Usually, at the level of medium income or above, you are eligible to receive only a little financial support from government.* ~# x( @( E% z* `! [+ {- R

3) Alberta family employment tax credit is also adjusted based on your family income.

4) For a newborn baby, usually the hospital gives you a bunch of forms which you can fill out either at the hospital or after you leave the hospital. There is no time frame. These forms refer to childcare benefits, birth certificate, and so on. These forms are also available on the government's website.
