What Makes Christmas Magical

are distant memories. Hearty indulgence in the many foods shared at Christmas ( @0 n8 @! @, M+ t% S' D
therefore doesn't produce the same feelings of guilt. Nevertheless, its not a 0 n$ X9 ]  M- D1 S
pleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then

smartly avoid it?
% @  R" x& Y& Y3 J) X?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out
0 a: u, @$ m$ ~$ hat a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem
" W4 H- Y. u5 ]to be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of / j8 A, p1 a- C/ y* Y
moderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a : Y+ p( I# [8 r$ n# r2 \7 G; ~, g

be something like, 'Uh..no..bah humbug' all the time that some Christmas goodies

especially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more
' Z5 }6 K- K; [  e1 F: e4 v: l9 e2 X6 x# mrelaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower. , [1 B* S. g6 I' q  N% |6 b' K+ G
?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to
5 x) i9 |' \5 ^. G- usubstitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with . b8 b! C$ l# u6 V7 U# X
breakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie,
: a% G6 f8 a8 p3 w8 Afrom the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to
; Z9 u  ]3 U: Jtell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into : X. f( F  U. |' P
play. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will

?Another strategy is to bring - bake or buy - low calorie Christmas cookies
9 {* M7 c# y" f  _% \) R& vand candies to work to counteract others that are being offered. Since eating
4 R: b2 ~2 L+ ^  O+ Z% ]; E7 @* chealthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down
" s) c0 r. n! }! I  m+ vupon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate ) z7 Y; ?9 \% g% c" M7 k3 l7 k
candies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies.

on a Budget' plan means that serving portions and the choice of food selected * B. d# o3 q' @* g; ~

the selections can be sampled. If the urge to try everything can't be resisted,
