WestLiving 这个builder怎么样？

在Mactaggart Mains. 价格貌似比别家低不少，谁知道怎么样呀？

建筑商打折往往是轮番的。2008衰退刚开始时Managen打折最早，别家都按兵不动。然后是Kimberly，退出2个相对便宜的。看来现在轮到Western Living了。

这家比别家便宜一大块可跟你例子中的建筑商降价不同。如果仔细观察他在Mains的showhome，就会发现他所有东西从材料选用到手工都很差，细节处理非常粗糙，而且他的Specification标准也很低，对于那个区60几万价位的房子来说，如果想找他建房子自己住的，you'd better be very cautious。我还真奇怪造出这种质量showhome的builder是怎么通过developer审核成为4家builder之一在那里建房子的。

补充一下，举个很简单的例子，别的builder都用50加仑的watertank，他家用的是40的，他家卫生洁具的尺寸都是比标准小一号，所以。。。

恐怕是你自己的理解有误吧？Mains的那个我的印象不深，Copperwood的那一个倒是记得，档次明显比其他3家高一点(Kimberly, Beattie, Classic Landmark）。洗手槽是非常新潮的浅池设计，不知道这是不是你说的小一号。

"洗手槽是非常新潮的浅池设计" You thought I am that stupid? If you see their showhome in the Mains you will have a better idear what I mean here. The toilet and bathtub they used in that showhome is very small and shabby and the brand - I've never heard about. I've never visited their showhome in Copperwood. That one might be better. Even though they can make better homes, I would not trust this builder since they can't provide consistent quality product. Who knows what hanppened to the company? Can they attract and keep qualified trades all the time? It is my personal opinion only. I wish anyone signs contract with this company good luck and can get a better deal. But always remember a rule of thumb, if a builder asks for a much lower / higher price comparing to other builders that are competing with each other in the same subdivision, there must be a reason for that.

很好奇，这些builder难道不是hire contractor干嘛？工程质量应该没啥明显区别吧。

Having accompanied my friend to view one of its spec-home (the interior finishing was ongoing by then, not finished, it is a 1500 sq ft bungalow), I remember that it is rather good, especially pricewise; it has some features/details, like 10' ceiling, transom windows over doors and brick-edged walkway/driveway and some other little things (don't exactly remember now), which all cost quite some dollars. But never have visited its showhomes.

For most of the extras you just mentioned is not included in their basic price. But I agree, this company provides very competitive price. All I mean here is 一分钱一分货. Everyone wants to find a bargain. The same as the builders. You thought you find a good deal, if that is really the case, how the builders make money for themselves?

What I have viewed is a spec-home; this means the price, just below 500K, includes what we saw in that house.
