Bombardier Aerospace of Montreal, Canada's only aircraft maker, will eliminate 1,360 jobs, or about 4.5 per cent of its workforce, to deal with a drop in orders for business jets. More than half the cuts are in Montreal, with the rest in the United States and Northern Ireland.

-Western Canadian Coal Corp. (TSX:WTN), a Vancouver-based coal producer, says it plans to reduce operations at its Brule mine and Wolverine operation in British Columbia. -In Chatham, another 470 workers will lose their jobs at the Navistar truck plant in the southwestern Ontario community Ski-Doo and Sea-Doo manufacturer Bombardier Recreational is cutting its workforce by nearly 1,000, about half of those at its Quebec operations near Montreal, as it slashes production by 20 per cent after a dramatic drop in demand.4 g$ t2 }) p/ V/ z Z" l
