CALGARY -- Petro-Canada is still planning major oil sands developments in Alberta following announced changes to the province's royalty structure, although it is clear that the moves will mean higher costs, an executive said on Friday.

, H) R- O$ n( C& F8 ^- X9 TThe company is doing detailed engineering and design work on the Fort Hills oil sands mining development and steam-driven MacKay River expansion, with decisions on funding expected next year.

"With what we've seen that still is the right path for us to be taking, so we're still going full-speed ahead to get to those decision points," Petro-Canada vice-president Andrew Stephens said.

Fort Hills of Petro-Canada is estimated at 16 billion and is in FEED (front end engineering design) stage. The whole project has 17 silos on 3 leases which are right beside Syncrude.

None of the Edmonton located consulting company got the bid for Fort Hills FEED. Some silos are being done in Calgary, some are in Vancouver, and some are in Austrilia (or maybe Italy, I can't remember very clearly)

the news is totally bull shit. our company got the design job.  but petro-canada has postpone the project until next year, the earliest is April. it should be start in September this year. Because of the delay, our company suffer the biggest lost.They prepared more than 100 engineers and designers for this job. Pertro-canada never give us any confirm information to proceed the design stage.

The real estate forum has nothing to do with me. I'm just respond to the topic, because I'm working on this project. If you don't mind, you can send me a message to tell me which company you're working for and I can check for you. First make sure your company hired all these people for FORT HILLS project. Petro-Canada has many projects including some renovation projects, don't mix among these projects.

这是两个月前旧闻了，只有这个不在AB做工程设计的项目表示将要继续。。。。

Northwest Upgrader 是同样的情况，本来说8月开始做detail 设计，Edmonton 分部也能分到一杯羹。后来拖到11月，现在又要拖到明年4月再看看。天知道到了那个时候还会不会继续做。
