Ambleside/Windermere 的各位，发现那个正在建的巨型通讯塔了吗？安全隐患

上周突然就发现我们家不远处建起来一个巨型的手机信号通讯塔！！！是在本来说好建教堂的那一块地上面。据了解，是教堂Ambleside Baptist Church出租地给手机公司。问了几个邻居，都没有接到任何通知。做了调查，虽然communication tower是federal管，local政府／居民没发言权，但是建communication tower的公司却必须通知我们。

"Telecommunications carriers have agreed for the first time to notify municipalities of all antennas being installed before their construction, regardless of height, and to undertake full public consultation for towers under 15 meters - whenever deemed necessary by the municipality," This is a quote by CWTA president Bernard Lord from the below CBC article.

要是的话，那离居民区也太近了！应该抽时间去问问工人他们在建什么。小黄，你听说过这事儿吗？

是邻居说的，他做了些research。他已经分别发email给教堂，社区和管西南的bryan anderson。昨天看到他€€€€塔上面开始装小锅一样的东西。

我今天也收到了社€€的回信。

“The Developers of Ambleside were not notified of this tower.

€€We are looking into more information on this permit and will provide any information that is provided. We were first notified by a resident via facebook on Thursday March 27. We believe it is fully within the lands owned by the church and are looking into confirming the same.”

Susanna,
Thank you for your email.  We were made aware of this cell tower earlier last week from a resident. The cell tower has been up since Wednesday.

Unfortunately, cell tower laws fall under Federal jurisdiction. The only requirement the communication company has is to share one tower with multiple users and to conduct a neighbourhood information meeting, which they must have done.  The reaction of the community is not taken into consideration. This is a Federal issue.  Churches ( and other locations) all over our City are receiving annual rent for the erection of cell towers on their property.  i.e. St Thomas More church on Terwillegar and 23 ave, (the cross tower is a cell tower), the Dayspring United Church on 40th ave by Petrolia mall, the Save-on grocery store on rabbit hill road and 23 ave.

The Church must have agreed to take the rent money and let them erect a tower on their property.  The owner of the land is well within his rights to do so. No neighbourhood has been successful in getting the Federal government department to deny a cell tower installation.

I am have asked our planning department for the history of the community consultation/ communication, which may have simply been a letter in the mail.  I will follow up with any info I receive from planning.

Hi all, we received a notice on our front door that Westeich Pacific is planning on a third tower across from Safeway. A public consultation is being held at Terwillegar Rec centre on April 2 at 7pm if those who have concern or feel the need to attend for more information on the development.

问题好像是他们没有“conduct a neighbourhood information meeting”，neighbourhood 指的是？

还要建几个？！如是，这个国人比较喜欢的区今后的房价，买卖的情况可能都不乐观。

你没整明白这个帖子说的是什么。这个说那个公寓项目要造第3个楼（现在已经有一个13层，一个9层公寓）。与手机站无关。
