I took the fast track nursing program in University of Calgary. I believe that UA has a two years nursing program too. I don't  have my course descriptions any more. Sorry. I sent them to U of C already when I applied the program. You need to get descriptions from the University which you had you first degree in China. It also has to be sent from the Univesity directly.

您怎么转专业的呢?我国内是护士,已经从大学毕业了,然后工作了一年,也考了护士资格考,但是最失败的就是我通过了考试,拿了资格证,然后因为出国的关系,就没有注册,这样一来,我不知道我还能不能转过来做护士,现在国内说如果要补注册的话.要回国内再实习半年才可以,所以我真的不知道怎么办好了,请问您有什么好方法吗?

thanks for your kind help in advance. I am in china now and may go to FTMC in one year. my boyfriend suggests me to take some course about nursing in china first so that I can get a better job there, but i never work in the field and no experience neither, it seems hard to take the degree in china, and i really need to do something to support my life there,  do you have any good suggestion about that? many thanks!

I suggest you check with College & Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta - CARNA. It can be different in different province, so it is better check with CARNA first. I just moved from BC to Alberta recently. Some of my friends who were nurses in China still needed to take a refresh course to be a nurse in BC.

I don't suggest you taking any courses in China if you are not going to get a nursing degree and going to move to here very soon. If you have a degree already in China, it doesn't matter what kind of degree, you can try to take some fast track programs in Canada. I know some Universities have this kind of programs, University of BC, University of Alberta, University of Calgary, and University of Toronto. They are about two years and your will get a nursing degree.  Of course, these nursing programs are quite difficult to get in, and very intense programs, but it is the best way to be a RN in Canada if you are not a nurse in China. I suggest you take some English courses in China, especially spoken English, it is very important to be a nurse in Canada.

我現在有點迷茫了，我準備申請NORQUEST 的NURSING REFRESHING COURSE是兩年的， U OF A 居然也有這個課程我才知道。 然後我也去過了炊煙那裡，是要去CARNA申請讀NURSING PROGRAM。 我想問問大家，你們都在哪裡讀書的？

真是得check CARNA。大多数国内念的护士，基本要补Psychology和mental的课程，雅思要6.5，口语不低于7。.学习的时候，男生没有什么特别待遇，但是毕业以后，男的一般都会在ICU 和Petriadic这样的部门，因为这边那个sexual consult，让男护士挺尴尬，但是UNA会保护的

I work in surgical unit. There are three male nurses. I didn't notice any difference. I also never heard any patients refuse to be cared by male nurses.

在产科做男护士是需要点胆量和不怕死的精神的。 这的病人有很多穆斯林国家来的人。特别是GREY NUNS HOSPITAL. 我保证你走不出产房的门， 就就义了。 想泡妞， 又有胆量的就来。 哈哈！
