POWER PLANT ENGINEER 3RD CLASS

Alberta Infrastructure , Vegreville - A challenging opportunity is available for an experienced 3rd Class Power Engineer to join the Facilities Management team at the Alberta Research Council, Vegreville. Your primary area of responsibilities will be the safe and efficient operation of boiler, refrigeration, diesel generators and natural gas Cogeneration unit, reverse osmosis, card access, HVAC systems, BMCS and related components. Your extensive mechanical knowledge and experience will allow you to troubleshoot and assess the performance of various mechanical systems, equipment and their components. You will perform hands-on repairs and adjustments and will work closely with various trades when required. You will provide recommendations pertaining to equipment repair and replacement. Other duties will include monitoring and performing preventative and routine maintenance, water treatment for mechanical systems in accordance with departmental guidelines and water treatment for domestic water in accordance with provincial regulations.

Qualifications: 3rd class Power Engineering Certificate plus several years related experience in the operation and maintenance of facilities. Salary: $46,188 TO $47,652 Shift Work Closing Date: December 3, 2004.
