“China’s Transformation and Its Global Implications”<span] Founding Dean of CKGSB长 江 商 学 院 , and a Leading Authority on China’s Economy and its Globalization Dr. Xiang is a leading authority on Chinese business, the reform of China’s state-owned enterprises, innovations in China, the globalization of Chinese companies, the role of the private sector in China, the relationship between state and business, and the global implications of China’s transformation. His writings and cases on these subjects are considered among the most influential in China and the world. It is worthwhile to mention that the CKGSB commands several dozens of world-class scholars in the area of business administration, is ranked the 6th of the 24 world’s most published business schools, and considered the “Harvard Business School of China”. I would emphasize that the CKGSB is China’s most popular “Cradle of CEOs”. CKGSB’s over 7,000 alumni include more than 2,500 prominent Chinese business leaders at the CEO and Chairman levels, who collectively lead one‐fifth of China’s most valuable brands and whose companies together generated more than USD $1 trillion in revenue, representing about one-seventh of China’s GDP in 2011. About 20% of the leaders of China’s Fortune 500s are alumni of CKGSB. For instance, Mr. MA Yun, CEO of Alibaba.com and now the wealthiest person of China, studied at the CKGSB. Without a doubt, Dr. Xiang is the individual who has contributed the most making all the above to happen. During the course of a little over 10 years, he sought and secured the generous support of the world-famous Hong Kong business guru Mr. Li Ka Shing, and has built and developed the CKGSB into what it is today. Dr. Bing Xiang obtained his Ph. D from the University of Alberta, and considers Edmonton his second hometown. Your presence at the event will not only support our on-going relationship with China, but also the imminent potential of developing a real connection with China’s most powerful network of business people and opportunities.
