n$ f$ h% A F5 i" s; o3 rCitizens of Edmonton are being urged to continue to exercise caution around river banks and creeks, avoid flooded park areas and closed trails, even though levels on the North Saskatchewan River have peaked.

F @“City of Edmonton officials have been working around the clock to monitor the situation and ensure the safety of the citizens of Edmonton,” says Mayor Stephen Mandel. “Water levels have started to decline but remain high and the river is moving fast. The amount of debris in the river also continues to be considerable."

As a precautionary measure, City crews have placed sandbags in some low-lying areas in the city including Riverdale and around the Alf Savage Centre in Whitemud Creek. As well, 102 Avenue at 87 Street in Riverdale has also been closed. |
