* e$ i( t1 w; y+ e; F- ^My experience is that my sump pump kept running for 2 days (the discharge hose got frozen outside and water kept back in) before I discovered, disconnected the hose, got rid of the ice and had the pump back to normal, but then it failed in 2 weeks time(because sump pumps are not designed for continuous running). You can buy one for around $100-$200 (depends on whether it is thermal plastic or cast iron), connect a discharge hose to the floor drain, set the pump's float at a higher water level to enable the pump to kick in in case the existing one fails and water level rises OR just put aside the new one for emergency. Also, for your consideration, the RIGID brand offers lifetime warranty. |
