Christian Louboutin will acquire 51 percent stake in fun fashion india (ffi) of mumbai,louboutin, which will operate as a joint venture  (jv) between chordia fashion and Christian Louboutin. Initially, ffi will distribute the Christian Louboutin range of products, including  ready-to-wear shoes, accessories, watches, jew-ellery and shoes, through a store in mumbai. Christian Louboutin plans to invest 5  million euros over a period of five years and also expand its presence to other cities in india.
Mr. Ferre uses bodies the way an architect uses wood. The flesh is as crucial as the fabric, more so for this designer than for any other: the way it peeps through the keyhole of an optical knit dress; the perfect match of a sheer pieced bodysuit with Naomi Campbell's skin; the deep plunge in the back of a beautiful sweater with a simple bandeau top cutting across the curve's geometry; a jacket cut away at the waist and completely open in the back.
Yet women are not wood, and Mr. Ferre's elaborate vision was sometimes hard to take. His most modern suits were the first down the runway -- crisply fitted black suits with cuffs unbuttoned and turned back, one a pretty A-line over a slim skirt, another fitted like skin on slim shoulders. And his working of materials is sometimes astounding, as in a per-forated black leather coat with a layer of tulle over the top, worn over a simple black sheath.
But these creations leave one so conscious of the work, the ideas, the deliberation involved that it is difficult to en-joy the workmanship. Strangely enough, with half the effort, Mr. Ferre's collection would be twice as good.
