A baby born prematurely to a woman in Scotland who subsequently became the first person in Britain to die of swine flu has also died, a health official said Tuesday.

All of the Middle Eastern cases arrived from the United States or New Zealand, heath officials said.

New cases were also reported by authorities in Egypt, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.

Also on Monday, Croatia's health minister said an earlier report by a WHO lab reporting the country's first case was a mistake.

& M+ T: }# j: zWhen a WHO lab based in London doublechecked the finding, the tests were negative, said Health Minister Darko Milinovic. Earlier tests at a Croatian lab were also negative.

On Tuesday, health officials in Quebec said two more people — a man and a woman each between the ages of 30 and 50 who lived in the Montreal area — had died after contracting swine flu.

6 P* D& K5 Z8 P7 x( dTwo people with swine flu in Manitoba also died — a man in his 40s with no known significant underlying health conditions and a woman in her 40s with serious health problems — provincial health officials announced Tuesday.

According to the Public Health Agency of Canada, 4,049 cases have been confirmed in Canada as of Monday, including seven fatalities.
