Quesion about demerit

老杨团队，追求完美；客户至上，服务到位！

I was charged with failure to drive in central lane and going to have 2 points deducted. I just wonder if that demerit will be in my record for 2 years. Any thing I can do to get it off from my record quicker?
Taking a defensive driving course help?

it will affect your insurance for 3 years usually.
