EDMONTON -- Alberta's chief medical officer of health revealed who is eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine in the next phase of vaccinations as Phase 2A began on Monday.

With Phase 2B slated to begin in April, Dr. Deena Hinshaw said Albertans with high-risk underlying health conditions would be able to get the COVID-19 shot.* l9 Z# x! \6 j4 o; p

Chronic heart, kidney, liver, neurological and respiratory diseases;

Diabetes that requires insulin or other medicines;
9 u! q) B. V( G1 x6 S Immunosuppression;3 D ^, x" h" W/ {4 k' v5 B
Pregnancy;
V/ S* R- B9 B \2 D2 V Severe mental illness or substance abuse disorder that required hospitalization in the past year;
: n0 J- W! W0 x Severe obesity;
4 D9 _' l. {; d Severe learning disabilities or severe developmental delay; and
r( N$ S( N N* k5 T/ R Solid organ, bone marrow or stem cell transplant recipients.
