A survey of 900 Albertans, conducted by Leger Marketing and provided to the Herald, shows Jim Dinning and Lyle Oberg still have a commanding lead over the rest of the pack as the Conservative leadership contest gears up.

Dinning, a former provincial treasurer, had the backing of 17 per cent of Albertans surveyed, while garnering 23 per cent support from those people who identified themselves as Conservative supporters. ' d6 w5 I) t. Y2 M" b" @7 r. t
) O8 ^+ {# \1 {6 H& uOberg, a former infrastructure minister, collected the support of 13 per cent of all those surveyed, while attracting the support of 17 per cent of Tory party supporters.

No other candidates in the field drew more than five per cent backing in either category, with MLAs Ted Morton and Ed Stelmach tied for third. Both men had the support of four per cent each of Conservative voters.
