* B6 P- e1 c( s# y"Summer presents a whole new range of options for work wear dressing," Tara explains, "and as tempting as it is to shed layers, it's important to convey a professional message even throughout these hot months." She suggests opting for classic pencil skirts, silk and cotton tops and maybe even a grey lightweight suit.If you think a pencil skirt and cotton top is just too plain for you, Tara suggests pairing your outfit with one of the season's popular bib necklaces. And you can definitely have fun with bold colours like electric blue and coral-which are totally hot this summer.Experimenting with summer trends and colours are definite dos this year, but experimenting with skimpier clothing to suit the weather, is without a doubt, a major don't.5 H0 O1 ~1 o8 m" S

Though we love a good tank or cami, Tara reminds us that sleeveless gear is usually better suited to your weekend wardrobe. If you have fallen in love with the tank of the summer, try it with a blazer or cardigan for the office. Besides, the AC in most offices tends to be a little on the too-cold side so an extra layer definitely won't hurt. You should also cross your new fave mini skirt off your work wardrobe list. "I think a safe length for all seasons is just above the knee," Tara says. She also suggests pairing your length-appropriate skirt with a silk top or ruffled tank with a blazer for a trendy yet classy look for the nine-to-five. Save your more revealing outfits for a night out instead. Naturally, the same goes for your five-inch heels. If you can't get through the work day with them, add them to your don'ts list.

* Q, ~6 S2 R4 c0 ^Another super important element in summer wardrobe shopping for the office is lingerie shopping. "With all of these lighter fabrics and colours, treat yourself to some new nude underpinnings," Tara suggests. And always be sure to purchase your clothing in the right sizes. Anything too tight isn't flattering nor is it work-appropriate. In terms of accessories, Tara suggests opting for jewellery that is both trendy and sophisticated. You can express yourself with colourful jewellery as long as it isn't distracting to your colleagues. For example, a woven scarf is a hot choice. You can also try out bangles or a slouched handbag, too. It just so happens to be a pretty inexpensive way to update your work wardrobe and add a touch of summer style to it. We love that idea!
